For the past 14 years Elk Mountain Outfitters has been in business, in Idaho, providing quality hunts for people across the country. New ownership has recently taken over with a plan to continue prior hunting success while adding more ways to experience this diverse country.
HUNTING
Elk hunting in this area is one of a kind. Not only are the elk plentiful you can use a rifle during the peak of the rut. Our guides are experts at hunting elk in the type of rugged and dense terrain you will find in the area. When you hear the advances of an excited bull elk you can be confident that your guide will provide the best opportunity to harvest this magnificent animal. There are added benefits with the local bear population being strong and how hard we work to set our baits in strategic locations to maximize success. The deer populations are not quite as dense, but we have found that what they lack in numbers they make up for in size.
Family Adventures
As soon as you get a glimpse of the amazing views across this region you will realize why we have decided to provide adventures for the whole family. Families will have the option to hike on backpacking trips, take horseback rides, and fish on mountain streams and lakes with breathtaking panoramic views. We provide 3 and 5 day trips that have variables based on the wishes of our clientele. Our favorite trip includes an enjoyable trail that connects numberous high mountain lakes where are family can spend there time fishing from the shore during breaks from the trail. We are also looking for clients interested in going on mushroom picking hikes to the small areas that were cleared out by fires. Anyone looking for a chance to diversify their photo collection would have plenty of opportunities to do so on any of the adventurous trips we offer.
Fishing
The river fishing in this region is quite enjoyable and the Salmon river provides some of the best fishing for spawning fish in the country. We are working hard to offer this in the future, so I will update the sight as soon as I have more info.
